Higonokami HIGO75BRS Blue Paper Steel Folding Knife
Everything about the Japanese Higonokami pocket knife radiates tradition. In Japan everyone, including school children, used to carry a knife like this (of course.. in the UK, this would not be possible) The Higo pocket knife was used to sharpen pencils and for many other tasks.
The blade is easy to open with the 'chikiri' (the lever at the end of the blade). As is common for this type of knife it doesn't have a lock and the blade will completely disappear inside the handle when closed.
Blue Paper Steel
This Japanese type of steel is easy to modify. This type of steel is often used for tools, amongst which knives. Just like many other types of carbon steel it can become razor-sharp. This steel, however, is not corrosion-resistant.
The Higonokami 75BRS comes with an artificial leather storage case.
