If you need a traditional but extremely well done hunting knife, our advice would be to get one of these. It's a seriously well thought out bit of kit. It comes with a wide, high flat ground blade measuring 4.25" in length made from folded Damascus steel. It includes a dropped point with perfectly angled tip and includes a brass guard to keep your dingers safe in use.
The handle is made from several rods of wood which have been set in a black resin, slices into scales and polished into a handle. This results in a pattern of multiple circular cross-sections which mimics the look a knotted wood. It's a very cool addition and contrast to the Damascus pattern blade. It's ergonomically shaped for a perfect fit in hand. Not much more you could possibly want on a no-nonsense fixed blade knife.
