QSP QS117-A Locust Linerlock Ball Bearing Lock Knife
The QSP Locust Knife is an unusual, elongated pocket knife. With a total length of over 22 cm, the Locust is quite a large knife, yet somehow it isn't very heavy. The Wharncliffe blade can be easily sharpened on a flat stone unlike more common blade shapes with curves that require extra attention. You open the blade with the thumb hole, which is almost like the eye of the Locust, or with the super-fast flipper running on ceramic ball bearings for that satisfying glide.
The blade is made from 154CM - a stainless steel that retains its sharpness well but is also easy to sharpen while maintaining all the rust resistance you'd expect from a steel purporting to be stainless. It's dressed in a two tone finish, blacked out flats with a gorgeous high satin bevel.
The handle of this knife is made from micarta, a composite material made from textile and synthetic resin. It is rock-solid, lightweight and it feels great in hand. In this case, QSP calls it 'Flax Micarta'. As you may know already, flax is in fact the raw material for linen. Both comfortable and eye catching it makes a great handle material.
For the hardware, QSP have included a Titanium pocket clip - it's near indestructible and shouldn't ever lose it's shape or spring. Stainless steel screws keep everything together.
